Why I Started Packetly

I'm Simon Bennett, the founder of SnapShooter, a backup service that helped thousands of businesses protect their critical data. After selling SnapShooter and moving on to work at DigitalOcean, I found myself drawn back into the world of startups—this time, with a new mission.

With Packetly, I wanted to tackle a growing problem: content security. The internet is flooded with files, media, and user-generated content, and businesses need a way to ensure the integrity and safety of what they store and share. Whether it's malware-laden files, explicit images, or other forms of inappropriate content, companies are increasingly at risk of hosting and distributing harmful material.

Packetly is my answer to that challenge. We offer an S3-compatible content identification API that makes it easy for developers to scan, detect, and mitigate threats in real time. With built-in virus/malware scanning, NSFW image detection, and more, Packetly helps businesses maintain a safe and compliant environment while reducing operational risks.

At the heart of Packetly is my passion for building reliable developer tools. I believe security should be frictionless, and developers shouldn’t have to struggle with complex integrations just to protect their platforms. Packetly is designed to be simple, effective, and scalable—so you can focus on growing your business without worrying about hidden threats.

If you're looking for a robust, easy-to-integrate solution for content security, I’d love for you to give Packetly a try.
